2025 French Open live updates — Coco Gauff vs. Aryna Sabalenka: Results for women’s final, score, highlights

It’s time to crown a new Grand Slam champion. The current top two players in the world are set to battle it out at Roland Garros on Saturday afternoon to decide the 2025 French Open champion. Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff are both looking for their first championship at this event and there’s plenty of history between the two.

The last meeting between them came just a month ago when Sabalenka bested Gauff at the Madrid Open final to claim her latest title. But the series is split at 5-5 in their 10 career meetings, including Gauff earning her first Grand Slam title over Sabalenka at the 2023 US Open. Sabalenka did bounce back to win the 2024 US Open as well as the 2024 Australian Open before being upset in the Aussie final this year by American Madison Keys.

These two meeting in the final marks the first time that Iga Swiatek won’t make the championship since 2021 after the Polish native won three straight French Open titles and four of the last five.

CBS Sports will be with you the entire way on Saturday, bringing you all the results and highlights from the 2025 French Open women’s singles final below.

After Aryna Sabalenka came back from 4-1 down in the first set tiebreak to win 7-5, Coco Gauff had to regroup quickly if she wanted to keep her hopes of a first French Open title alive. She did just that in impressive fashion, as the top American steamrolled Sabalenka in the second set, winning it 6-2 with three breaks of the Sabalenka serve to force a third set for the championship.

Gauff got going early with a quick break of serve in the first game and then consolidated that with a hold of serve in the second — which had been a problem for her in the first set.

She would add another break to go up 4-1, before getting broken back immediately by Sabalenka, creating a little murmur that we might be in for another wild momentum swing. However, Gauff swiftly put an end to any hopes from Sabalenka of a furious comeback by breaking Aryna’s serve for the third time in the match to go up 5-2.
